Christmas Day - Santa has visited

Lorelai takes a moment to read her new book and remember what this day is really all about (the baby Jesus).

New purple slipper socks for all the girls in the house. It gets kind of cold when you have to leave those wet shoes at the door.

Ford shows us his incredible "walk the dog" yo-yo trick. Only he calls it "hit the kitty in the head".
Lorelai with her updated bike. She asked Santa for a blue basket, blue bell and blue streamers for her bike. Santa didn't realize how difficult it may be to find those things in the winter in Colorado. Well - that's part of the story we had to tell her when grandma fell asleep and Lorelai snuck away and found mom & dad painting the blue dots on her bell in the bathroom. Santa was having a hard time finding the blue bell, so mom & dad had to help by painting it for him. Thanks to a very special "Christmas Angel" that gave us the supplies for the streamers on Christmas Eve (a completely different long story) we were able to complete the upgrade by Christmas morning.

Christmas Is Here!

Here is our tree! Many of you should note that your presents are here, under the tree, and not there because we wanted to feel like you were with us on this blessed day. That is our story and we are sticking to it. If you don't buy that excuse, then remember that we just had a couple of blizzards and our post offices were closed.

Here is Lorelai getting a pretty new fairy dress. Mom didn't take the picture which should explain why the dress didn't make it into the picture.

Mom is helping the kids open their presents. Lorelai liked unwrapping Ford's presents too.

Grandma Maria's new boots! Now she can visit any ol' day she wants.

Getting ready for Christmas

This is a picture Lorelai took of her brother after she pushed him down and told him to smile. I keep trying to explain to her that he is going to do the same back to her as soon as he is big enough. It is only a few more pounds before he outweighs her.
Here is Lorelai, looking very serious, as she decorates the 2006 Schaffer Christmas ornaments.
Mom and Brother at the pottery shop.

He we are at the Ft. Carson Christmas Celebration. The kids are showing you how well behaved they are as I yell to them, "wait, stop, don't touch the deer, come back."

Lorelai is once again taking a picture of her brother. This one is great!

Lorelai is posing in front of our half decorated tree. As you can see, Lorelai likes to decorate by putting matching ornaments together on the same branch.
